2016 planning

No New Year Resolutions for me, but an energy and excitement to do better this year than last.  It works for me as each year I achieve things.

The key for me is not only deciding on my direction, but clarifying and repeating it, not ad nauseum and definitely not as a mantra.  Rather I remind myself weekly of the annual goals in 5 areas of my life (sharpen the saw from 7 habits of highly successful people) and work(balanced scorecard), and break it down into quarterly and then weekly goals.

I use a self made weekly planner sheet in my old filofax style binder that follows the above pattern.  It also allows me to measure the good habits I am trying to create- nutrition, exercise, checking my email.

Added to that I use a daily sheet that I found last year chronodex, that uses a dial rather than a list of time.  One of the sheets that this really clever man has made, has extra columns for GTD (getting things done).  The dial is a more real process to me and I match it to vanderkamms schedule

With coloured pens and clean sheets every week, I enjoy the setting up  of my week and evaluating it as I go.  Somehow the reminding and evaluating keeps me on track, so this year I am putting in place the achieved desires I verbalised  last year, not believing it would in fact work, but they did!
